- Be specific. Not just just that your knee hurts. Mention when it started, what makes it worse or whether it is constant or comes and goes. The more detail you give, the more your doctor has to work with
- Mention things that feel unrelated or minor. Sometimes what seems small to you is the piece your doctor needed to connect the dots
- If you do not understand something your doctor says then ask them to explain it again. That is what they are there for
- If you are anxious about the appointment, just say it. Most doctors appreciate knowing upfront
